Class Descriptions All classes are Hybrid (zoom & in-person)
Introduction to Hula
For boys, girls & tweens (ages 5-12) and teens & adults (ages 13+).
Dancers are introduced to basic hula steps and Hawaiian Language words and phrases used in Hula. This class is intended to prepare students for our regular weekly beginner or intermediate upper level classes.
Keiki Hula 1
For Boys and Girls (ages 5-7, 8-12)
Young dancers build upon what they learned in the introductory class and learn more basic hula steps, language, dance etiquette and simple songs.
Keiki II - Hula
By invitation only (ages 8+)
Dancers continue with more language and technique and dive deeper into understanding Hawaiian culture.
Liko Pua - Hula
By audition/invitation only.
Advanced older keiki/tweens. Performance & competition level.
Beginning Adult Hula
Men & women (ages 13+) build upon what they learned in the introductory class and learn more basic hula steps, protocol, language, dance etiquette and simple songs.
Intermediate & Advanced Adult Hula
By audition/invitation only.
Men & women (ages 13+) are trained for performances, competitions, and as examples for other classes. Participation in performances is optional but the classes are taught at the performance and competition levels.
Mākua and Kūpuna Hula
By audition/invitation only.
Men & women (ages 35+) are trained for performances and competitions. Participation in performances is optional but the classes are taught at the performance levels.
Introduction to 'Ori Tahiti (Tahitian Dance)
For boys, girls & tweens (ages 5-12) and teens & adults (ages 13+).
Dancers are introduced to basic 'ori tahiti steps and Tahitian Language words and phrases used in 'ori. This class is intended to prepare students for our regular weekly beginner or intermediate upper level classes.
Beginning Adult 'Ori Tahiti
Men & women (ages 13+)
Dancers are taught the basic motions and fundamentals of traditional 'Ori Tahiti, including Tahitian words and phrases and cultural protocol.
Advanced 'Ori Tahiti
Men & women Ages 13+
Dancers fine-tune their 'Ori technique, build strength & stamina, increase their knowledge of traditional Tahitian culture, language and lifeways.
Polynesian Dance Conditioning Class
Open to men & women ages 13+. Minimal dance experience is helpful. The instructor combines hula and 'ori dance steps with contemporary songs for a fun addition to your exercise regimen.
